Audio only mode with SlingPlayer for various mobile devices

Do you want to listen to the big game while fighting a fierce battle between birds and pigs? Do you still want to listen while you're in a low bandwidth area? Audio only mode allows you to do just that!

Audio only mode continues to stream even when:

  • You turn off the screen by pressing the power button.
  • You go back to the device home screen or use other apps.

To turn on audio only mode, connect to your Slingbox, tap the screen of your mobile device and then tap the quality button. From the choices presented, select Audio Only.

Note: Your screen may look slightly different from the one below, depending on the device you are using.


To turn off audio only, simply tap the quality button and select another option.

Audio only mode is supported by the following versions of SlingPlayer:

  • SlingPlayer for iPhone
  • SlingPlayer for iPad
  • SlingPlayer for Android Phones
  • SlingPlayer for Android Tablets

You must be connected to a SlingTV/Slingbox 500, Slingbox M1, Slingbox 350, Slingbox PRO-HD, or Slingbox SOLO to access this feature.
